The Parent Partner

The journey of parenting and child with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a beautiful one with indescribable joys and unique challenges. The Parent Partner is my personal project that aims to work with parents and/or guardians of children with Autism by helping them build community while learning alongside each other to be the best parent they can be. About Me

My name is Mya Thomas, and I am 24 years old. I graduated from Johns Hopkins University with a Bachelor of Arts in Cognitive Science with focal areas in Neuropsychology, Neuroscience, and Cognitive Psychology. Currently I work as a Pediatric Developmental Autistic Specialist and an Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) Registered Behavior Technician. I started this initiative as a platform specifically for parents of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, as I continue to be inspired by the clients I work with each day. At TheParentPartner, I believe in creating a supportive and understanding community for parents of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. With the assistance of experienced educators and parents with first-hand experience in the world of ASD, my blog aims to offer practical advice, emotional support, and resources that cater to the needs of ASD families. From navigating real-world challenges to fostering social skills and advocating for your child's needs, we cover a wide range of topics to assist you on every step of your journey. Our mission is to empower you with knowledge, connect you with a supportive community, and be a partner in overcoming every obstacle and celebrating every achievement.
